Been reading a bit of Thich Nhat Hanh. I love him. Even if I can’t pronounce his name. Very inspirational. Just like Antibes. No wonder so many Artists were drawn here (excuse the pun). This light is magical.
People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child — our own two eyes. All is a miracle.
Smile, breathe and go slowly.
If you love someone, the greatest gift you can give them is your presence.
You must be completely awake in the present to enjoy the tea. Only in the awareness of the present, can your hands feel the pleasant warmth of the cup. Only in the present, can you savor the aroma, taste the sweetness, appreciate the delicacy. If you are ruminating about the past, or worrying about the future, you will completely miss the experience of enjoying the cup of tea. You will look down at the cup, and the tea will be gone. Life is like that. If you are not fully present, you will look around and it will be gone. You will have missed the feel, the aroma, the delicacy and beauty of life. It will seem to be speeding past you. The past is finished. Learn from it and let it go. The future is not even here yet. Plan for it, but do not waste your time worrying about it. Worrying is worthless. When you stop ruminating about what has already happened, when you stop worrying about what might never happen, then you will be in the present moment. Then you will begin to experience joy in life.

Do You Want To Hear Something Ridiculous?
Do you want to hear something ridiculous?
I am in love with a boy I have not even met.
I don’t know the feel of his touch
or the smell of his neck.
I don’t know the sound of his voice
or the swing of his walk.
I don’t know the heat of his skin
or the texture of his hair.
And yet,
I have my heart set.
I arrange seashells in his name.
I pray for his wellbeing.
I sing him in the shower.
I whisper him in my sleep .
And on the days I pick wild berries,
we share them in my dreams.
On Honeymoon Alone
I can’t believe I’m living here. I want to cancel all of my future travel plans and stay here forever. Seriously, how can such a place exist? It’s so romantic it hurts.
The black dish is used to make a giant paella.
Forever alone.
In Japan, it was vending machines, bicycles and noren. In Spain, it’s doors, cats and benches.
Jose and Bea insisted I photograph this bench. They love how it has been levelled to fit the slope of the street.
Just like the Before Sunset series.
This is Noah, Hector and Sara’s cousin. Their mother and Noah’s mother are sisters. In the short time that I have been here, I’ve noticed that they do everything together. I hope to be the same with my sister in the future. Babies, picnics, outings, all of it, together.
Jose says that is a whale’s head.
These rods were used to hang nets – redes in Spanish and the name of the town today.
Wild berries everywhere!
Veal hamburger with garden veggies and fresh bread for dinner at…10pm! Yes, so I have to tell you this: Jose says the times in Spain are different to that of the rest of Europe. The days are much longer here. These guys typically eat lunch at 3 and dinner at 10! I can’t believe it! But I am starting to enjoy and appreciate how much adventuring one can pack into a single day – though of course, I am a little tired. Maybe it’s jet-lag, still. Also, I cannot tell you enough how great it is to be living with a family again. My mood and overall health is so much better. There’s only so much solitude and mountain life a girl can take. Humans are meant to connect. Also, I am loving the endless hugs and kisses – again, and sorry to compare or not sorry to compare, a huge difference to Japan.
Chick Flicks On A Plane
Not snakes on a plane – much less frightening. Or corn flakes on a plane – much less delicious. Sorry! Don’t leave. I promise to get out of my head. OK, so I watched three chick flicks on the plane, on a plane and they were all well, a pretty nice way to spend a couple hours.
1. How To Be Single: the one with Rebel Wilson
2. 5 to 7: the one with the main dude from Like Crazy
3. Sisters: the one with Tina Fey and that blonde lady she does comedy with.
Aren’t I a great reviewer?
5 to 7 was my favorite. It got me listening to French music which for some reason I find overly romantic. Damn, I wish my life had some romance in it. Yeah yeah, it’ll happen when you least expect it. Whatever.
