Guest Post: Picturesque NZ by Vatey Uy

No need to be an Instagram-famous bikini-model turned travel blogger to feature the beauties of the world on your site… (can you sense the bittnerness in my voice?) having talented friends around the world, will do! Here’s a little somethin’ somethin’ from home. Arigato Vatey-chan xx

WORDS AND IMAGES BY VATEY UY

Returning home to New Zealand from my travels in Central America where I was exposed to foreign sights I could have never even imagined has given me a whole new appreciation and perspective for what NZ has to offer. Crossing paths with travelers, one thing was always agreed upon when it came to “New Zealand”: the beautiful landscapes, the picturesque nature. What I personally love about Aoteroa is that everything is within hours. What I’m trying to say is that NZ is small and travelling doesn’t take forever. Whatsmore, the vegetation and landscape is always different, changing from farms to mountains to rivers and lakes within an eye’s blink. Looking at these pictures, I try not to take that for granted. I try not to overlook the familiar.

Images from top to bottom: Milford Sound, Arrowtown, Lake Tekapo and last two snaps, Queenstown.
